Meet Toby! Toby is our 5-year-old Lab/Pitbull mix, born in the Netherlands. He is vaccinated, neutered, chipped, and has an EU passport. We have had him since 8 weeks old. Toby is an incredibly loving, loyal, and affectionate dog who bonds deeply with his people and loves being part of a pack. At home he is very calm and relaxed, sleeps most of the day, and is well trained indoors. He walks nicely on the lead, waits patiently for food, and is comfortable being left alone during the day. He currently sleeps downstairs in his bed but is also crate trained. He loves playtime, treats, and outdoor adventures. Toby has lived happily with our 3-year-old daughter and is gentle and calm with familiar people in the home. However, Toby has some behavioural problems. He can be anxious/reactive around unfamiliar dogs and unknown children outside the home, which can lead to barking or lunging on walks. We believe he would thrive with an experienced owner who can provide more exercise, structure, confidence-building, and continued training. With another baby on the way and both of us working full-time, we no longer feel able to give Toby the level of time and attention he deserves. This has been a very difficult decision and we are in no rush to find his perfect match. Finding the right long-term home is the most important thing to us. Ideal home needs to be: - Experienced dog owner who understands dog psychology - Calm and structured environment - Ideally no young children - No other animals (potentially a stable female dog could work to help with socialization) - Someone committed to ongoing training and exercise We have worked closely with a trusted trainer and dog hotel who know Toby very well, and we would love his future owner to continue that relationship if possible. A small rehoming fee of around €50 applies, mainly to ensure serious interest. However, the right home is far more important to us than the money.
